Lhamoe Latso lies 115 kms to the north-east of Tsetang and is one of the most important pilgrimages destinations in Central Tibet. The Dalai Lamas have traditionally made visits to this lake at least once in their life to make offerings to Makzorma, and to seek visions in the water for insight into the of the country.
After the death of a Dalai Lama, the Tibetan regent would journey to Lhamoe La-tso seeking clues from the oracle lake for finding the next Dalai Lama. We also explore Yarlung Tsangpo Valley, the cradle of Tibetan civilization and visit to the Samye Monastery and Yumbulkhang.
