STUNNING CHOMOLHARI TREK

Day 01: Arrive Paro by Druk air Flight, which will offer you great views of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Chomolhari, Tsrim gang and Jichu drake. The moment you step out of the plane you will see the difference. Bhutan welcomes you with cool, clean fresh air. Peace and quietness is just another bonus. ITT representatives will escort you to Kichu resort. If time prevails visit the National museum and the Rinpung Dzong.

Day 02: To acclimatize yourself a hike to taktsang monastery (tiger's den) which will take 2 to 3 hours (3000 m) lunch will be served at the cafeteria. Stroll back to Kichu resort. Evening at leisure.

Day 03: Drive upto Drugyel Dzong where the road ends and the Trek beings, following the river gently uphill through a narrowing agricultural valley. Lots of homes and Kids. Camp is just beyond an army post. 5 to 6 hours walk. Camp alt. 3800 m.

Day 04: Shana - Soi Thangthangkha 24 kms 8 to 9 hours walk. On day 4 we continue uphill through the river valley. It narrows and closes in and the trial winds up and down along the drainage. Camp is in a meadow with stone shelter BTC has built for trekkers. Camp alt 3800m

Day 05: Soil Thangthangkha - Jangothang 12 kms 4 to 5 hours. Camp alt 4050 m. On day 5 we proceed up the Pa Chu. Pass a small army post where the valley begins to widen again. Now views of high ridges and then snow-capped peaks are all around.

Day 06: Jangothang halt. Trek up to Tsophu for fishing or there are stupendous day - hike in 3 directions - Jumolhari and it's subsidiary are directly west, Jichu Drake to the north, unclimbed summits and ridges to the east.

Day 07: Jangothang- Lingshi 18kms7 to 8 hours walk. Climb over Nyele la pass alt. 4700 m. Camp at alt. 4100 m. On day 7 you see wide yak pastures on the way up and down the pass, possibly still some people in their yak tents depending on the time of year you are there. Great views of Lingshi Dzong as you come down into the Lingshi basin if the weather is clear. Tserim Khang and its descending glaciers at the north end of the valley.

Day 08: Lingshi - Shodu 20 kms 8 to 9 hours walk. Climb over Yale la pass alt. 4900 m. Camp at alt. 3750 m.

Day 09: Shodu - Barshong 17 kms 6 to 7-hours walk. Camp at alt.3750 m.

Day 10: Barshong - Dodena 20 kms 7 to 8-hours walk. ITT members will receive you and drive (1 hour) on t Thimphu alt. 2300 m

Day 11: Thimphu sightseeing. AM- Memorial chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, Drupthop nunnery, Royal goldsmith workshop & vegetable market. In the evening, we drive to Paro (2 hours). Enroute visit Simtokha Dzong the oldest in the kingdom.

Day 12: Early morning drive to airport for departure Kichu Resort, Wangduephodrang.

Day 07: Jangothang - Dumzo. 18 kms 7 to 8 hours walk. Camp at alt. 3800m.

Day 08: Dumso - Tumbo Shong. 13 kms 5 to 6 hours walk. Camp at alt.3800 m.

Day 09: Tumbo Shong - Shana Zam. 15 kms 5 to 6 hours walk.

Day 10: Shana Zam - Drugyel Dzong. On ITT coach will be waiting and drive on to Kichu resort.
