GANGTEY GOGNA TREK

Day 01: Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to walk around Paro and savor the feeling of a country that seems to be existing in an earlier century. From the dress of the people to the consistency in the traditional architecture, you know you are in a different kind of place that exists anywhere else on earth. Overnight at a local lodge or hotel.

Day 02: Paro Sight-seeing.

Aftrnoon see, Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of Bhutan.

Day 03: Drive 5 hrs to Gangtey via Punakha.

Day 04: Trek begins from Gangtey - Gogona 15 kms. 5 to 6 hours walk.

Day 05: Gogona - Khotokha 16 kms 6 to 7 hours walk.

Day 06: Khotokha - Chazam 15 kms 5 to 6 hours walk. The trek begins with a gradual climb and if weather permits one will get a beautiful view of Mount Gangkhar Punsum, the highest mountain in Bhutan and other Himalayan mountains from Doupchula Pass. The path gradually descends till Phajoding, where the monastery and the retreat centers for meditation are located. Overnight in camp.

Day 07: Drive to Paro via Thimphu.

Day 08: Farewell and transfers to the airport.
